4th Annual Batizado on June 16th 2012

Please join us for our 4th Annual Batizado on June 16th 2012. This year we have a ton of Kids being baptized into our Capoeira family and other students joining our family from afar.
Last year’s Batizado was awesome and we had many guests that came to support and give their Axe to our event.
Details:
Friday Open Roda 7:30-9:30pm followed by an open discussion.
Saturday Workshop 10-11am w Treinel Daniel FICA
Saturday Workshop 11-12pm w Mestre Urubu Malandro “Capoeira Ijexa.
Saturday Batizado: 1-4pm

Capoeira Irmandade Presents: Brazilian Cultural Festa!

Come support Capoeira Irmandade and join us for food and festivities on Saturday, May 21st! Starts at 5pm and ends late.
We’ll be hosting a BBQ, dancing, music, art show, and a raffle. Come watch some demonstrations including a capoeira demo and maculele presentation. For the raffle, there are some amazing prizes lined up and you could win anything from a berimbau to a photo shoot and more!
$10 suggested donation at the door with… opportunities throughout the night to purchase raffle tickets. More updates will be posted as the date approaches.
UPDATE: help us preserve our floors! If attending, be sure to wear shoes you can take off easily (no worries, the floors are CLEAN). 😀
5pm-7pm: open, begin BBQ, browse art, etc.
6pm: start serving food
7pm: samba lesson + dancing
…8-8:20: capoeira demo
8:40-8:45pm: maculele demo
9pm: raffle
9:30-12: open floor for dancing
*purchasing raffle/meal/drink tickets will be available upon entrance at the door and throughout the night (meals end at 10pm)

December Holiday Schedule

Here is our December holiday schedule.
We are closed Saturday December 25th and Saturday January 1st.
All other classes M,T and Wed will be open as usual.

New Tuesday Beginner Class Added Sept 14th 7:30-9:30 PM

We will be adding a Tuesday Beginner class starting Sept 14th 7:30-9:30 pm, we will cover Capoeira basics and conditioning. All levels are welcome but the focus is for beginners.

Capoeira Irmandade -San Jose will be moving to a new location starting September 1st 2010. We are moving to a bigger place and a place we will cal home.
Location: 725 Locust Street Santa Clara CA 95050 / Behind Blondie’s Yogurt Near Santa Clara University.
Parking: Parking in around Santa Clara University is tough so come early and DO NOT PARK AT THE SAFEWAY PARKING (THEY WILL TOW YOUR CAR)

Saturday Kids Class – 12-30 – 1-30 pm (Kids ages 3 to 10)

New Rate Schedule: Drop in Fee $14 Effective September 1st
10 Class Card $100 Effective September 1st
New Class Format: Classes are now 2 hrs with last 30 min dedicated to music or flexibility exercises.

Please Join us June 12th 2010 for our 2nd annual Batizado e Troca de Cordões
Batizado is a celebration where our new students will be baptized officially into the group and receive their first belt or Cordao, and where the other students depending on their progress will move up to a new cordao / belt.
